Handmade Paper with Fine Point Ink
This piece comes from my love of marigolds — their scent, warmth, and deep oranges and maroons that feel almost alive. In my first year living in the bus, I grew a large patch and often sat right in the middle of them, completely surrounded. After sharing that, I was told a story I didn’t know — that as a baby I was cared for by a woman who grew marigolds in her yard, and I would crawl into her flower beds without hesitation. Without knowing it, I had returned to something I’d once known. This piece holds onto that quiet loop of memory and color that feels familiar in a way I can’t quite place.
