Mushroom Tree grew out of countless hours spent wandering the trails surrounding Great Barrington — following winding paths beneath thick canopies, slowing down enough to notice the quiet details that make the forest feel alive.
 
Over time, we became fascinated by the way mushrooms slowly take over fallen trees and forest floors, framing small pockets of the woods like tiny hidden worlds. There’s something grounding about it all — the stillness, the damp earth, the filtered light through the trees, and the reminder that nature moves at its own pace whether we notice it or not.
 
This piece is less about one exact trail and more about the feeling that comes from being out there. The kind of walk where your shoulders finally drop, the noise in your head quiets down, and for a moment everything feels a little simpler. A reminder to take a deep breath, follow the trail, and trust that things will work themselves out along the way.
 
Through the silkscreen process, we wanted the artwork to feel layered and immersive — almost like stepping into your own small forest oasis. Something calm, familiar, and worth returning to.
