Part of the Canoe Series, this piece captures a Fourth of July evening drifting through Stockbridge Bowl during the James Taylor concert. Surrounded by fireflies and the low vibration of fireworks echoing against the water, the whole lake felt still and electric at the same time — one of those summer moments that feels impossible to fully explain unless you were there.
 
Canoe in Lily Pads 2026:
Part of the Canoe Series, this piece was inspired by a quiet afternoon visiting XB’s parents, gliding through a pond so covered in lily pads it barely felt real. Moving slowly through them in the canoe felt less like crossing water and more like drifting into another world — hidden, still, and completely untouched.
 
Canoe Rope Swing 2026
Part of the Canoe Series, this piece comes from one of those summer moments that gets funnier every time it’s retold. After watching someone gracefully swing into the lake from a rope swing, Ally — growing up in Boston without much rope swing experience — decided to give it a shot. The result was less graceful dive and more frantic crash into the water, losing a hat, sunglasses, and somehow dislocating a middle finger in the process. Thanks to pure adrenaline, the finger got snapped back into place before anyone even realized what happened. Good times.
